| SNOWY NIGHT |
|||||
| The milkiness sky requested the night to overrun the land. When dimness began, the first flakes drew a fine sketch in the air. When the night became really utter, the white earth was shining deliciously. The little fairy was marvelling at the magic marriage of darkness and lightness. Then some wolves came and stopped there. They seemed to be searching deftly something in or under the snow. The fairy girl was greatly intrigued, but with a feeling of dèjà vu ... Were they seeking the skeleton key ? She decided to wait and watch, hoping that fortune would send her its extensive knowledge. Then she noticed an other animal amongst the wolves, it looks exactly like the wolves nevertheless a voice inside of her was murmuring that it was not a trite wolf. Finally the answer suggested itself : It was a dog returned to the wild. When the snow stopped falling down on the ground, the dog raised his head and all the wolves looked at him. A short time later, all the wolves and the dog began to perform a kind of dance, and this during a long time. Then they came to rest, they exchanged a look and suddenly they ran away all together, and vanished inside the night. The fairy was still perplexed. She walked near the place where they had "danced", and wondered at the things she saw. She thought she was living a tale ! But do tales contain a kernel of truth ? She watched the draws the wolves had executed in the snow, and she recognized easily numbers, letters and other signs she knew that human beings used. Was she dreaming ? But no, and she began to decode the signs. When at last she could interpret the draws, a smile lightened her face. Immediately after that, snow fell again and covered soon all the draws, erasing definitively the message that the wolves offered to the little fairy girl. 01/12/10 Isabelle Coquinot |
