Gidan's head doesn't please me only because of its fine expression - I should
rather say : its manifold expressions ! But the mainly thing is that his head
morphology is really a model for my breeding. Its proportions are right,
unfortunately too many Croatian Sheepdogs show too short muzzle ; in Gidan's
head, the stop is gently sloping, and the skull is just a little oval and with small
difference in level between the muzzle and the top of the skull, unluckily a lot of
Croatian Sheepdogs have too strong stop and too much difference in level
between muzzle and skull, moreover too much oval and even round skull can be
found too. So it appears that Gidan's head isn't at all widespread enough in the
breed, and in a breeding point of view, such a good head is a real treasure. But
Gidan has also other qualities : his normal coat is curly enough, and EVEN ON
THE FLANKS, it can be deplored that too many dogs show some curly and long
enough hair on the back and around the neck, but very poor hair on the sides and
even sometimes on the back part of he legs ; Gidan is correctly built, with right
standings, but too with the right line of the back : I want to say that, when the dog
stands normally, the angles of the forelegs and those of the hind legs make the
line of the back go down slightly from the neck to the tail (while being straight, of
course) - and unfortunately once again, this can't be found in all Croatian
Sheepdogs, sometimes it can be found even severe faults. Gidan is dry, with long
enough legs, all his body is made for jumping and for running, running at top
speed, able to corner at full speed too, etc. Some could consider that his forelegs
are too slight, despite of the standard which write the same, I would agree but only
to a certain degree, I want to say that his legs could be just a little bigger, but the
Croatian Sheepdog must not become a heavy dog, with big bones, and must not
too lose neither the long legs nor the dryness of the whole body.
Of course Gidan's morphology isn't perfect, for example the colour of his eyes :
the center is dark brown, but all around the colour is rather amber-coloured.
Nonetheless, his eyes are the more sparkling pearls of the treasure !

But what would be the good of a dormant treasure ? A treasure must be used to
make things go better ! And a treasure is meant to be passed on through the
times thanks to the inheritance !
By the way, thanks to Gidan's treasure, Fango got a daughter who showed prick
ears the day she was just eight weeks ! And it seems that Gidan's head left its
mark ...
Nevertheless, Gidan's main treasure is the love that lives inside his eyes, and love
is the inheritance of the age ...
