Back to "Dogs of  my own" Contents Back to Home                                               C  H  R  I  S  T  M  A  S        G  I  F  T During this first year of my website, I got  into the habit of using the birthday date of my dogs to write about each of them. Today, Snasha Slavonski Brod is exactly 5, so I must put pen to paper for her. But today, the 25th of December, it's also Christmas Day. And with a lot of Christmas Carols all around in the air, I would be rather disposed to write a tale, a Christmas tale ... But ... But ... What if Snasha herself WAS a tale ??? Once upon a time there was a castle in the auld lang syne, a castle lost inside a bank of mist somewhere above the sea, or maybe it was the ocean, who will ever know ? On the Christmas Day, a little girl was just born inside this castle of the auld lang syne. She seemed very nice, and everyone was happy all around. Every one ... ? Not every one. Because on an other Christmas Day, once another girl was born too, and she turned suddenly jealous that this young sister made every one enjoy her. You know, in every castle of the auld lang syne, little girls always dream of the Prince Charming. But who would choose the Prince Charming if there was 2 girls, 2 sisters dreaming of him ??? The big sister was so afraid to lose the Prince Charming that she turned nasty. She wanted to get rid of her newborn sister. As everybody knows, all castles of the auld lang syne were full of all kinds of ghosts and fairies. So she called spiteful fairies to concoct a fatal plan ... But it was the Christmas day. And on the Christmas Day, a lot of benevolent fairies wander through the whole world to give goodness all around. One of them was roaming near the castle inside a bank of mist. She saw the spiteful fairies above a cradle, and she decided to intervene. Could she keep the bad fairies from harming the newborn girl ? No, it was too late, and the malicious fairies were already going away. But the Good Fairy couldn't accept not to do something for the unlucky one. She hid a Christmas Gift in the newborn girl's womb. Only a Prince Charming could ever reveal the Christmas Gift. The little girl didn't die. Was it because of the Christmas Gift deep inside of her ? She didn't die but she became a very small, very tiny young women, as if Death had succeed to take only a part of her. She was not really ugly, but she wasn't at all a beauty too. How could she ever be chosen by the Prince Charming ? Her big sister wasn't really prettier, but she turned quickly engaged to a distinguished person, with a whole string of titles. So there was not the ghost of a doubt that he was the Prince Charming, and he had chosen the big sister ... The little sister thought that now she couldn't dream of the Prince Charming any more ... So she accepted to be engaged to a simple honest man. Although she wasn't much to look at, one day a "simple honest man" wanted her as a wife. And they married and they got a lot of children ... All the tales end like that, at least in the auld lang syne ... But NO ! Yes they married and had children, but the story isn't finished !!! Could the jealous sister accept this without reacting ? The envious sister called again the spiteful fairies. And all the children of her unlucky sister died one after one ... The young woman and the honest man were completely down, but the Christmas Gift was still inside the women, and she thought to throw themselves to the Good Fairy's mercy. When the young women turned pregnant once again, the Good Fairy sent her two Angels with a Fairy. Then their life changed. The Angels and the Fairy revealed that in reality, the "simple honest man" was the Prince Charming, at least HER Prince Charming, the one who could reveal the Christmas Gift. And since this moment, the young women saw her husband in a different way, he seemed to be another man, to be someone else. And they got a lot of children .... Yes, but the tale is not ended. Can a tale really end ? Tales belong to the imaginary world, and so end doesn't exist. Yes they got a lot of children with the help of the Angels and the Fairy. But will the nasty sister and the spiteful fairies accept this without making harm ? Is the Christmas Gift stronger than jealousy ? Is the Christmas Gift able to triumph over the envious ones ? Will the Prince Charming always be able to reveal the Christmas Gift ? What will happen to the Christmas Gift ? Will the nasty sister and the spiteful fairies be able to steal the Christmas Gift ? And who will be chosen to receive such a Christmas Gift as a legacy ? And who will be able to keep such a Christmas Gift as an inheritance ? Tales never end, mine too.
